These venerable drinks must have the same distributor, because I always see them together, sold adjacently – and they have nothing obvious in common except for frightening, luminous colors. And the worst of Americana…

Original Green River has been “Caffeine Free Since 1919”.
Good for them!
A candied, lime oil flavor with a foamy consistency and a miserably bad aftertaste.
Better than the buying the Big Name lemon/lime sodas, but only politically.

Big Red has been “Red Soda since 1937”.
Great!
This is the archetypical bubblegum style cream soda that children (from the 1950s) love and cream soda aficionados (hats off to M. Millaire) ABSOLUTELY HATE.
I, too, prefer my bubblegum to be in solid form when I buy it.
…And the winner is : Neither!
Thank you.
