Grace Banana Beverage – “Quality Since 1922”
July 5, 2004
I’ll bet you couldn’t have guessed that there was a Jamaican-based,
mulinational pre-packaged foods giant. Well, there’s probably only one.
That would be Grace, Kennedy and Company, Ltd.

They make a few sodas: A Kola Champagne (ou, Le Champagne des Kolas)
a pineapple soda, and a banana soda. B A N A N A.
I discovered these in the local corner markets –
and I’m sure that they are sold here only by virtue of the
local Latin American population’s demand.
Because, these are bizarre, over-sweet, syrupy drinks.
But it is banana soda… so you don’t complain,
and you don’t ask the reason why.

grace brand ginger beer is really really good though.
i’ve had those caribbean/latino “champagne” sodas and they are really sweet and nasty.
I have a high, high standard for ginger beer – but I’ll try it.
Kola Champagne = Liquid Bubblegum Cult.
Sir, though the likelyhood of your imbibing Inca Cola is low because it only comes in plastic 2-litre bottles, I still must recommend that you never drink it. It is foul bright yellow bubblegum death.
Sir,
While it is true that Inca Kola is foul bright yellow bubblegum death – I regret to inform you that this foul bright yellow bubblegum death comes, also, in 12 oz. cans and bottles.

I am humbled.
Only from admitting to drinking Inca Kola I hope.
I should point out to readers that there is *no* actual cola in Inca Kola,
lest the color deceive you.
