DNA – “Pure Water That’s Lost Its Innocence”

September 27, 2005

Sorry for the size of this ad…

…but I felt you needed to see it.

I have the french version of this drink (“ADN”, commePFK) but the concept is the same:
an “alcoholic beverage with spring water”.

Now, originally, I understood that as “spring water plus alcohol”. Cool! Even at a meager 7% alcohol that’s still a kinda brilliant idea. That’s how the stuff is marketed, for the WATER. See?
It’s alcoholic water!

Nah.

DNA / ADN turns out to be one of those disappointing malt beverage drinks. The main ingredient is carbonated water, but the next one is corn syrup, and the next one after that is malt… Yuck.
It’s like drinking Karo syrup straight from the bottle. Same great taste, too.

So, yeah, total let down.

I still can’t imagine why this drink is called “DNA” on the first place.
