Riggs & Forsythe Ginger Ale – “Naturally Flavored”

February 18, 2006

I guess the whole ‘soda pop for adults only’ concept didn’t work out. Riggs & Forsythe is out of business. Their old homepage is abandoned, the shelves are empty, the cupboard is bare. I’m pretty sure I predicted this, but I’m not going to take the trouble to check.
I don’t feel too bad – the company was owned by a bank, and when you are already owned by a bank, foreclosure can never be never too far off.

Anyway, their sodas weren’t half bad, and I just finished their Ginger Ale. Also not half bad.
A total of FOUR ingredients guarantees at least partial success, “ginger root extract” being the third (after fructose).

So… goodbye Riggs & Forsythe. I wouldn’t have bought another one of your sodas anyway (I already give enough ¢ to banks)
but I am, nevertheless, sad to see you go. Enjoy your retirement!

if Riggs & Forsythe can’t succeed, my hot soda idea is worthless.

Maybe when you work for that bank you can propose it to them?

damn there goes another company that tried to make bitter lemon

Not that their bitter lemon was any good compared to Schweppes. But it was the thought that counts since it’s so damn hard to find. I did find their rather dry blackcurrent reasonably satisfying however.
