Kakhetian Chacha – “Georgian Grapes Vodka”
August 25, 2007

From the land of grapes & “old technology”: chacha.
This one is a meager 50% alcohol, but comes in a luxurious terra cotta bottle.
I wrote about this stuff once, but it seems a lifetime ago, and I certainly wasn’t drinking it in situ back then. It’s basically grappa, but with an “oak barrel flavor” that I can’t easily pin down as authentic or Soviet-style ‘flavoring’.
I don’t know.
*another sip*
Nope. Can’t tell.

Speaking of ‘real’, I doubt I’m ‘real’ enough to pass the requisite drinking tests (you know: a ram’s horn filled with chacha, etc.) but as long as I keep getting mine from the supermarket and in fancy bottles, I’m probably safe.
My liver begs to differ.

Fancy!

“Предназначена для настоящих мужчин”!!! – “Vajkatzta sasmelia” – LOL.
I ought to take you once to a village, let you taste the real taste of chacha. ;)
Do they drink chacha in the mountains? Because we may need the permission of the Mountain Princess!
Absolutely.
Something tells me that you’ll be granted the permission.
We will see, then…
votre journal est rad!
