“Coke is for Jews; Pepsi is for Arabs.”

The above mantra is amongst the many things you can learn from snopes.com‘s ‘cokelore‘ page. Or, in some cases, unlearn after watching this obtuse Channel 4 documentary [torrent here, youtube here] which is politely flecked with muddled thinking, half-truths, and unproven allegations.

Coke’s reputation doesn’t require further maligning for me, but I understand that not everyone is aware of that big dumb company’s misdeeds – and I further understand that most people don’t really care. Not enough to stop buying, anyway.

Nevertheless, incriminatory trivia about Coke’s bad behavior abounds, including the Fanta-as-’Nazi-soda’ theory (mentioned at length in the film, addressed by snopes here).
